🎵 A Kiss Before the Grave

Symphonic gothic metal and cinematic dark fantasy meet in a story of broken oaths, dangerous mercy and the price of survival.

A hunter sent to kill Serenya recognises the woman who once saved his life. When he stands between her and his companion, the hunt turns against him. Wounded among the rain-soaked graves, he faces a choice that could save his life while taking away the future he once knew.

Lore Context

Serenya knows the danger of uncontrolled hunger. Caelan, the man she loved, died when she could not stop. Her later control makes a different outcome possible, but every act of restraint carries the memory of that loss.

In Teutarya, a bite alone does not grant immortality. The Bloodkiss requires the vampire to stop drinking while the mortal is still alive, then deliberately give their own blood in return. In this video, Serenya must make the cost clear and leave the wounded hunter room to choose.

Story Notes

• Connected arc: Serenya — vampire tragedy, mercy, hunger and the burden of control
• Related faction: The hunting organisation remains unnamed.
• Related characters: Serenya; an unnamed hunter; his hunting companion
• Canon status: Song-first artistic interpretation. The unnamed hunter and the 1708 setting belong to the narrative of this music video.

Lyrics / Key Lines

The chorus places salvation beside loss. Laying down the silver blade means trusting the darkness the hunter once swore to fight. Serenya can offer survival, but she cannot return the life he knew unchanged.

“A kiss before the grave,
Before the morning takes you.
Lay down the silver blade
And let the darkness save you.”
